  • Settling of Southern Klamath County by Czech Colonization Club (1985), compiled by Vlasta Zumpfe Petrik and Joe Zumpfe. An eyewitness account of the Czech Colonization Club’s establishment of the town of Malin, Oregon, in 1909. Includes some primary source material.  
  • Sagebrush to Shakespeare (1984), Carrol B. Howe. Achievements and contributions of well-known Klamath Country residents. 
  • The Expeditions of John Charles Frémont (1970, 1973, 1984), edited by Donald Jackson and Mary Lee Spence. A multi-volume edited and indexed version of Frémont’s journals. A map portfolio is an additional volume. Includes Fremont’s descriptions of the Upper Klamath Lake area in the 1840s.  
  • Reports of Explorations and Surveys, to Ascertain the Most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. Made Under the Direction of the Secretary of War, in 1853- [6]. Includes a description of the Klamath Basin/Tule Lake area in the 1850s. Also documents the flora and fauna of the region.
