Citing Your Sources

In-text Citations

Unlike MLA or APA, AMA uses a superscript method of citation. To cite a source, include the number (in sequential order) as a superscript after the citation. In a Word document, type the number and then choose superscript. These superscript numbers must appear outside the commas, periods, and quotation marks and should appear inside of colons and semicolons.
