Creating and Submitting Your Portland-Metro Project Poster

Step 1: Make a Copy of the Portland-Metro Poster Template

Download and use this PowerPoint template to create your poster. This will ensure your poster has the correct dimensions for printing for the Portland-Metro ideafest.

Step 2: Create Your Poster

Not sure about what your poster should contain? Register for a workshop to learn about poster creation, the purpose of the various sections, and examples.

Register for Virtual Poster Workshops

Poster creation workshops will be held via Zoom on the following days/times. You only need to attend one. A recorded version will be available for those who cannot attend. 

Tuesday April 26th at 3:00-3:30pm Register

Monday May 2nd at 11:00-11:30am Register

Office hours will be held Friday May 6th from 10-11am and 2-3pm for questions/poster review. Register

Creating Effective Poster Presentations

Step 3: Submit Your Poster 

Deadline: To have your poster printed by Oregon Tech for free, submit your PowerPoint file by 11:59pm on Monday, May 9th. 

To submit your poster, you will fill out a form and upload your file in Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Before you begin, be ready with a Title and Description (100-300 words) for your poster.
  • The form will ask you for permission for a copy of your poster to be made available publicly on the web in the Oregon Tech Library's digital repository for student projects.
    • If you do not want your work to be posted on the web, or if you are under an NDA that means your work should not be shared publicly, be sure to check No under this option. 

You will upload your file into this form for printing. No changes to your poster will be possible after you upload and submit the file. If the file upload fails, you can email a link to your poster file to

Submit your finished poster using this form.

Step 4: Attend the Portland-Metro Ideafest!

On the Portland Metro campus, the Ideafest event will take place on Wednesday May 18th, 2022 from 5:00-6:30pm. Some students may be asked to attend at 4:00pm to welcome special guests on campus. The event will take place in Rm 120 at the Portland Metro campus building.
